On-Board Charger (OBC)
The on-board charger (OBC) receives grid voltage via a ground-mounted AC charging station and the AC charging inlet, connected to the charger to slowly charge the vehicle's traction battery; its basic function is to convert the AC power from the charging station into high-voltage DC power to meet the charging needs of the EV traction battery. By structure, on-board chargers can be divided into unidirectional and bidirectional types: a unidirectional OBC can only charge the battery, while a bidirectional OBC can invert the battery's DC power into AC power, supporting vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V), vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-grid (V2G) operating modes to achieve bidirectional energy flow.
Technology platform: bridgeless PFC + full-bridge conversion; Input voltage: 90~264Vac, single-phase or three-phase input; Output voltage: 400V (200-500V); 800V (400-925V); Output power range: 3.3kW; 6.6kW; 11kW; 22kW; Conversion efficiency: 94% (Typ.); 95% (max); Packaging: standard metal enclosure / modular. CDU Power System Integration (CDU Integrated System Product)
The CDU (Conversion & Distribution Unit) is an on-board power system solution integrating multiple high-voltage electronic control functions. It usually includes functional modules such as the on-board charger (OBC), the DC/DC converter and the high-voltage power distribution unit (PDU). The CDU can be integrated as a “two-in-one” or “three-in-one” assembly. This integrated design has been adopted by more and more domestic and foreign OEMs and has become one of the mainstream technologies worldwide. The company began exploring CDU system integration technology for new energy passenger vehicles in 2014, and its products have been iterated to the G9 generation, with numerous successful cases.
DC input voltage: 400V (200-500V); 800V (400-925V); DC output voltage: 14V (9-16V); 27V (24-30V); 48V; OBC output voltage: 400V (200-500V); 800V (400-925V); Output power range: 3.3kW; 6.6kW; 11kW; 22kW; DC/DC conversion efficiency: 93% (weighted); 96% (max); OBC conversion efficiency: 94% (full load); 95% (max). Key advantages: cost reduction and efficiency improvement — integrating multiple components lowers wiring harness and accessory costs, reduces harness connections and weight, and extends battery range; high power density — the integrated design makes the CDU smaller and lighter while providing high power density; high conversion efficiency — the integrated design helps improve conversion efficiency and reduce energy loss; stable and reliable operation — the integrated design provides stable power output and ensures stable operation of the vehicle's electrical system.
