Blade Battery
BYD's self-developed lithium iron phosphate (LFP) power battery, launched in March 2020 and continuously iterated. On March 5, 2026, BYD released the second-generation Blade Battery and flash-charging technology (official press release: 'BYD Releases Second-Generation Blade Battery and Flash Charging Technology, Ushering New Energy Vehicles into the Flash-Charging Era'). The second-generation product achieves charging from 10% to 70% in just 5 minutes and from 10% to 97% in just 9 minutes at room temperature; at -30°C, charging from 20% to 97% takes only 3 more minutes than at room temperature. Energy density is improved by more than 5% over the first generation, and the Denza Z9GT equipped with the second-generation Blade Battery delivers a range of 1,036 km. In terms of safety, it passes the 'nail penetration during flash charging' test after 500 flash-charging cycles (no thermal runaway, no smoke, no fire), the 'bottom impact test' with 10 times the impact force of the new national standard, and the 'thermal diffusion test' at 4 times the new national standard (official brand page 'Four Leading Advantages').
