Hybrid construction machinery combines an engine with electric drive, energy recovery or battery assistance. Architectures vary from series and parallel hybrids to range-extended systems, so the same ‘hybrid’ label can represent very different fuel-saving and site-energy requirements.
Require a clear powertrain diagram and compare fuel saving under an agreed duty cycle, not a generic percentage. Check rated output, usable battery energy, charging needs, machine weight, thermal limits and whether the machine can continue working after a subsystem fault.
Use the table as a first comparison, not as a substitute for a technical agreement. Ask shortlisted manufacturers to confirm the current configuration, test method, duty cycle, charging or energy-supply boundary, applicable standards, warranty, local service and spare-parts plan in writing.
