Great Power began sodium-ion R&D in 2019 and achieved major breakthroughs in layered-oxide and polyanion systems in 2021, entering mass commercial production in 2023. The layered-oxide system exceeds 150Wh/kg with over 3000 cycles, while the polyanion system exceeds 6000 cycles with over 95.5% efficiency. It passed the first national sodium-ion battery tests and is deployed in storage demonstration projects.
